My Own Personal Edward
35 years of Bliss!
Stephenie Meyer's books, Twilight, etc., have been a lot of fun to read. The movie, Twilight, was alot of fun to see for those who read the books and for those who didn't (like my husband, Phil!)
I wondered what he would think of the movie but noticed that it had his rapt attention throughout. But, I was unaware what a great impact on him it had made until...
He came out into the kitchen after the movie with glitter on his face.
On the way home he said, "I feel very protective of you!"
and...He now runs in fast motion whenever he is around me.
Yes, I have my own personal Edward and I love him!

The Two Newest Grandkids

Halloween from the Past...Oooohhhhh!!
I remember being so busy with my little "tribe". So busy, that on Halloween we would get a big black garbage bag and put it on the kids as a cape, draw a moustache on and call it good. Then I started to try a little bit harder by sewing some costumes and got clever, too, and borrowed some. Here is a picture of the kids when there were four--Sam (Dracula), Liz (Nurse), Sarah (Strawberry Shortcake) and Ben (Batman). It was fun to make all those costumes and I really miss those days. That's why grandchildren are so great!
Remember When?
This is a new section on our blog that may arouse nostalgia on the part of you baby-boomers. We baby-boomers reminisce about the way it used to be and how much more simple life was way back then. Well, the reason it was so much more simple and blissful is because we were the children then. I hope you enjoy these pictures from my past. My how things have changed. I was so excited to go to school in my new outfit. The next picture is of my sisters and I--Sherry, Marla and Patty. Can you tell which is which?

Devil's Staircase
Phil finally won out and got me on a hike and I must admit it was beautiful. Halfway up the trail, I sat down and said I refused to go any further so he tried to coax me by saying that it would be so beautiful up there and that I would love it once I got there. So, knowing psychology how I do, I yelled at him and said that I knew he was using psychology on me and that I wouldn't go another step. After all, on the steeper parts I could actually hear my heart pounding and thought I would perish any second.
But, after resting a little, I got up and pressed on with him. He was so right! It was absolutely gorgeous at the top and I'm so glad I went. When I got home, I had lost 3 lbs. Can you believe it? Here are some pictures of the big event. Thank you, Phil. You're awesome!
We've Entered the Blogging World
Hi, Everyone! Phil and I are new at this but have found it a great way to keep in touch with family and friends...so, here goes nothin'!
We have just welcomed a new little grandbaby into the family. Rachel Elizabeth Fossum entered the world all robust and healthy weighing in at 9 lbs. 7 oz. She is a beauty and lets herself be known when she wants something. In her dad John's words, "She has the loudest cry in the nursery."
